Italy’s 2006 FIFA World Cup Soccer win

I have been going through my hard drives as I finally switched to an Intel based Mac from a PPC. In the process I have been going through all of my images to better organize everything.

These images are from the celebrations that occurred on St.Clair Avenue West in Toronto that occurred after Italy won the 2006 FIFA World Cup of soccer. I hung out in the area betting that Italy would win the game and I would get some good photos of people celebrating. The soccer fans did not disappoint me.

BONJAY

I managed to rise from my flu bed for a couple of hours on New Year’s Eve to do a shoot for NOW Magazine. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this show, as short as it was. Also realized how clueless I was about the music scene. I never have really paid that much attention to it.

FLI vs. Flu

I have spent over ten days at this point dealing with the worst flu I have ever had. Usually I get over them in a few days, this is the first time in my life that it has lasted more than four days. This in light of the fact that I had a flu shot. I spent a little of the time I had in my coherent periods to understand as much as I could about the flu. Getting a diagnosis on the flu is difficult.

Let us start with some facts. The Merck Manual defines the flu as follows, “Influenza (flu) is infection of the lungs and airways with one of the influenza viruses. It causes a fever, runny nose, sore throat, cough, headache, muscle aches (myalgias), and a general feeling of illness (malaise).”

Ear ache

Working on these images in post processing as I suffer an ear ache that does not want to seem to go away. This photo says it best for me.

Sometimes you have to let them fly.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do when photographing someone is to settle them down and then direct them into the persona you want or the one you are required to have. The latter being in the case of a commercial job. It can be really difficult if they are fidgety, nervous or have short attention spans. The best is when you can run with them in their natural state. Alexandra, the model above, is always bursting with energy and the desire to get in front of the camera. She wanted to fly, so l let her.

Almost there.

Ok I am almost where I want this site. Still a little more work and I have to add some content.
